At GRIT Basketball, we teach mechanics of shooting, finishing, footwork, ball handling and much more. But we don’t stop there. We make sure your son or daughter knows when, where and how to use those new skills in game situations. (See our 5-step methodology.) We constantly talk about the processes of improving as an overall player and person, and help young players understand the value of hard work, perseverance, being mentally tough and having a great attitude.
Shooting & The Pro Shot Shooting System
Our shooting philosophy is based on the Pro Shot Shooting System. Pro Shot is a shooting program that teaches players and teams the techniques used most consistently by the world’s top shooters. The system focuses on six areas of the body to produce accurate, rhythmic and quick shooters (known as the FOREST). There is not a shooting system in the world that will improve a player’s mental and physical shooting skills as quickly as the Pro Shot System.
Game Ready Intense Training (G.R.I.T.) is not for everyone. Your child may love the game of basketball but that’s not enough. To play at a high level, he or she must set high goals and train hard consistently. This requires an exceptional work ethic, a commitment to daily practices, and, most important, an openness to learning, improve and change while developing their basketball skills – This is both a physical and mental commitment and task.
Mental Game of Basketball
At GRIT, we also focus on a player’s overall mental approach to the game. While some studies show that once an athlete achieves a high level of physical skills, 90% of his or her game is mental. We disagree. In reality, basketball is 100% mental. A player’s thoughts influence his actions and his actions influence his thoughts.
Most athletes spend 100 percent of their time working on the physical aspects related to their sport and neglect the one area that ultimately separates successful athletes from those who do not reach their full potential or how we like to put it “OVER ACHIEVE”.
It is our goal for our players to have confidence in their abilities by developing and maximizing their mental, physical and fundamental competencies.
Parents, we provide a positive place for knowledge and sources that you can use to direct your child and help them further develop the game they enjoy.
Thank you for following and subscribing to GRIT Basketball. We look forward to continually providing a place for you to develop your passion and a place where all of us can grow together and revolutionize the hard nose, passion driven, growth minded, Gritty game of basketball we all LOVE.
